Join Team Pedal Power for a 100km fundraising ride

18th June 2017

Easter Sessions

Pedal Power is running all its sessions as usual throughout the Easter period. Come along for an Easter ride.

Sessions stay on the Athletics Track

All Saturday sessions will be held on the Athletics track until further notice.
This is great news as it’s a much larger space to cycle in and is fenced off all around so very secure for our riders.
Look to enter from the back entrance of the track – the opposite side to the track building, near the Hornsey Gate.

Pedal Power Sessions 2017

Pedal Power session have started back following our winter break. These are: Finsbury Park every Tuesday & second Saturday, plus every Thursday at the Emirates Stadium. See our Calendar page for more details. Sessions are free to attend, you’ll just need to fill in a registration form when you arrive.

Apologies if anyone was worried by the lack of website these last few weeks. We’ve been having some technical difficulties, which is all sorted out now.

Finsbury Park Sessions back in 2017

Our last Finsbury Park session of the year took place last Saturday. It was a a fabulous sunny session with a great turnout of our regular members plus plenty of new faces, soup, cakes, giant bubbles and volunteer Beauty dressed as Santa. We’ll be back again on Sat 4th Feb 2017.

Pedal Power shortlisted for Club of the Year

Pedal Power was again shortlisted for Haringey’s Sport’s Club of the Year Award. From a great variety of clubs in the borough, Pedal Power made it to the final selection of three. Club Chair Anne Lavery said: “We’re delighted that Haringey continues to value the wonderful work we do with our inclusive bicycle club. We won the Sport’s Club of the Year award in 2014 so it’s only fair for someone else to have a turn. “

Pedal Power makes the national press

Founder and club manager Jo Roach was interviewed for a piece on the Guardian website. It’s a wonderful inspiring story that we hope will encourage others to set up similar clubs.

Extra Sat Session 11th Sept

Next Saturday, 11th September, we’ll be holding a one-off extra Saturday session, to make up for the one we had to miss during the Wireless festival in July. We’ll also be celebrating Pedal Powers 12th Birthday. No races this year as the track is still closed but we can always eat cake. So come join us next to the Basket Ball Courts in Finsbury Park, 12-4pm.

UPDATE FOR SAT 23RD

Race for Life is using the park. If you are driving to Pedal Power you will need to show the letter that we emailed to you earlier to gain access by car as the park gates are shut to normal traffic. Additionally security may delay entry for a short while if there are a lot of runners using the park’s road at that point. Most of the runners will be done by 1pm and we are hoping that that access will be easier after that.

Saturday 9th July session cancelled

Unfortunately we will be unable to hold a session on Sat 9th July due to the Wireless Festival taking place in Finsbury Park. In previous years we have been able to use the Althletics Track, but it is currently out of action with improvement works. These works have overrun and the track is now predicted to open sometime in August.
We will continue to hold the Tuesday Pedal Power sessions on 5th & 12th but these will probably move to another area of the park. Look out for signs.
