Pedal Power makes the national press

Founder and club manager Jo Roach was interviewed for a piece on the Guardian website. It’s a wonderful inspiring story that we hope will encourage others to set up similar clubs.

Extra Sat Session 11th Sept

Next Saturday, 11th September, we’ll be holding a one-off extra Saturday session, to make up for the one we had to miss during the Wireless festival in July. We’ll also be celebrating Pedal Powers 12th Birthday. No races this year as the track is still closed but we can always eat cake. So come join us next to the Basket Ball Courts in Finsbury Park, 12-4pm.

Race for Life is using the park. If you are driving to Pedal Power you will need to show the letter that we emailed to you earlier to gain access by car as the park gates are shut to normal traffic. Additionally security may delay entry for a short while if there are a lot of runners using the park’s road at that point. Most of the runners will be done by 1pm and we are hoping that that access will be easier after that.

Saturday 9th July session cancelled

Unfortunately we will be unable to hold a session on Sat 9th July due to the Wireless Festival taking place in Finsbury Park. In previous years we have been able to use the Althletics Track, but it is currently out of action with improvement works. These works have overrun and the track is now predicted to open sometime in August.
We will continue to hold the Tuesday Pedal Power sessions on 5th & 12th but these will probably move to another area of the park. Look out for signs.

Sat 25th June session goes ahead

We are going ahead with today’s session after initially thinking we would have to cancel it. We found out rather late that the council is no longer holding a festival in the park this weekend. Apologies to our members for the late notice and hope to see all of you this afternoon.

Pedal Power AGM

Please come along to our annual general meeting. All members & supporters of Pedal Power are welcome.

Tuesday sessions move to basketball courts

The upgrade work on the Athletics Track means that our Tuesday (and Wednesday) sessions have temporarily moved to the Basketball Court area. The fabulous facelift including a high quality new track and landscaping is due to be completed by the end of May.

Pedal Power starts back in Finsbury Park

Our winter break is over and Pedal Power sessions resume in Finsbury Park the first week of February.

2nd Feb - Weekly Tuesday sessions on the Althletics Track 10-1pm
6th Feb – Fortnightly Saturday sessions on the Basket ball Courts 12-4pm.

Looking forward to seeing all out members again!

New Year at the Emirates Stadium

Pedal Power start the year early with Thursday sessions at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium back on from the first week of January, 10-2pm. We have new bike sheds being built to accommodate our lovely fleet of tandem bikes. Wrap up warm and come and join us!

Pedal Power heads to the Emirates Stadium

This Thursday, Pedal Power is launching a new regular session at home of the Arsenal’s football team. The session is aimed as the learning disabled community with profound and complex needs. We have bought a fleet of new tricycles and side-by-side tandems especially for this purpose and are looking forward to shining them up and getting them out. The session is part of the All in Islington project funded by Sport England, Islington Council and GLL and will run for two years. Starts 6th August, 10-2pm every Thursday.
